Introduction
A career in Energy Management and Engineering began in 1968 and includes over
27 years in Energy Management in the commercial sector with an additional
nine years of Electrical Engineering in heavy industry.
Throughout my career, I
have held progressively responsible positions utilizing an extensive background
in engineering and energy management. Acting as an in-house ESCO (Energy Services
Company), I have been responsible for multimillion-dollar energy programs for the
complete project cycle: Identifying opportunities, Developing cost/benefit
analysis, Designing the solutions, Installing equipment, Commissioning and
Operations & Maintenance.
Additionally, my duties have included supervision
of Engineering (M.E.P., Paving, Roofing, Drafting, CAD), Accounting, Clerical,
Project Management and Secretarial Personnel. I was also responsible for selecting,
hiring and supervising Architectural, Electrical, HVAC Plumbing, Fire Protection,
Energy Management and Environmental Consulting Firms and Contractors. In 1997,
Energy and Engineering Solutions, Inc. was founded to provide these consulting
and energy services to other companies.
Professional Recognition
I am a registered Professional Engineer in five states, Certified Energy Manager,
AEE's International Energy Manager of the Year and Energy Manager?s Hall of Fame,
recipient of other Energy Awards, publisher and presenter of Energy Articles and
Papers, author of Book Chapters, past instructor with universities' Energy
Programs, quoted in the press on energy matter. I maintain membership in several
professional organizations (AEE, ASHRAE, IEEE, IES, AESP) including committee and
officer positions including being elected President of AEE in 2001. I also remain
committed to assisting non-profit organizations in solving their energy problems
and providing energy training to engineers, building owners, managers and
technicians.
